Watch me in the feature film, MAD COWGIRL starring Sarah Lassez, James Duval, Devon Odessa and Walter Koenig. Not only was I was one of the actors, I was the producer as well! Currently available on DVD at Amazon, Netflix, Blockbuster Online, Virgin, Borders, etc. and to be released today on VOD in July 1, 2008 at Amazon VOD and EZTakes.Com My work as a producer on "Mad Cowgirl" has been a joy to work on with professional and committed talent & crew. And, I am very proud of what we have!
The two awards (Best Narrative Film Award and Best Performance Award to Sarah Lassez) at the 2006 Silverlake Film Festival in Hollywood back in March, audience demand that resulted to a third screening on the week of my 39th birthday back in February at the San Francisco Independent Film Festival and getting written up on Variety, the entertainment industry's premier magazine for film professionals ~ although, cool as there were, they are just footnotes representing our best efforts making this film! Of all the projects I worked on, "Mad Cowgirl" is my most proudest moment! And, it was such an experience to work with Sarah, Jimmy, Walter, Devon, Vic, Jaason, Christo, Linton, Ron, among others! It has been an education in the world of professional acting for me to witness and take note. Hope to work with each and everyone of you again in the future. Also the tireless crew: Dawn, James, Marvin, Jeff, McKay, Kym & the Stuntpeople, Kiyomi, Luke, Max, Tony, Dan, among others, who've put their best foot forward and provided suggestion and feedback to make the look and feel of the film authentic. These folks are the best crew I have ever assembled and is honored to have worked with. I would like to thank Greg for giving me the opportunity to produce his film and in trusting me to do the very best job I can as well as being resourceful whenever I was challenged. Oh, and thanks to the caterer, of course! Personally, I discovered and learned more about myself ~ my strengths and my weaknesses, and how to go above and beyond ~ as a working feature film producer. But, most importantly, I wish to thank you all for your support of my endeavors as well as your continuing support of independent filmmaking. I may be in Chicago at one of the dates listed below. Haven't been back there since I left home in 1980!!! It would be a nice homecoming. FACETS CINEMATHEQUE Chicago, Illinois; October 7 & 14, 2006 Check your local listing for screen times! Photos here: http://www.dailyceleb.com/ximagi/search.php?sort=celeb&assignment_id=5781 In 2005, Edwin A. Santos worked on two very different indie films: THE LAST EVE (2005) and MAD COWGIRL (2006). Film Threat listed both films as the Top Two of Ten Best Unseen Films of 2005. Edwin played an informercial host in #2's "Mad Cowgirl" while he played a sleazy motel manager in #1's "The Last Eve." Both films are currently on DVD. Read more about it here below: http://www.filmthreat.com/features/1656/ The 2003 Riverside International Film Festival hosted our showcase screening of the award-winning film, "Soap Girl" at the Regal Riverside Plaza Cinemas in the Inland Empire. I'm listed here as producer / actor for my first film, "Soap Girl" in the 2003 edition of Screen World, the definitive record of the cinema since 1949. Volume #54 provides an illustrated listing of every American and foreign film released in the United States in 2002, all documented with more than 1000 photographs. I had an interview with Balita USA, a national Filipino American newspaper after my film I executive-produced, SOAP GIRL won Best Feature Film in the Asian American Showcase at the Big Bear Lake International Film Festival back in September. The interview took place at House Of Pies in the Los Feliz area this past October. I got a full page spread in the November 15-21, 2002 weekly edition of Balita USA and a top caption at front page. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Balita USA (USA) 16 November 2002, Vol. 1, Iss. 46, pg. 24, by: Kristine C.
