FilAm Creative (FAC) is an all volunteer community organization dedicated to the advancement of Filipino-Americans in entertainment and media. I was at KSCI-18 Studios this morning with Abe Pagtama and Gabe Pagtama in West Los Angeles for interview about our upcoming encore screening of Fil-Am Creations: A Filmmaker Movement tomorrow evening at Regency Theaters' Valley Plaza 6 in NoHo for Kat Iniba's new television show, Generation NOW. The interview aired later today on LA-18. I've attended the first Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival - VC Film Festival in 1998 to see Gene Cajayon's Mercado Family Debut. I've grown from a passive moviegoer to a supporter of film projects my friends and colleagues premiered with. In April, 2017, I walked onto the red carpet with the premiere of three new short films I appear in along with a group of dedicated and compassionate filmmakers, talent and crew who've arrived with a total of 12 new shorts of strong Filipino American storytelling. The 33rd annual Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival presented FILAM CREATIONS: A FILMMAKER MOVEMENT, a film initiative that inspires, motivates and mobilizes the Filipino-American and Filipino filmmaking community to create short films and share their artistic voice and storytelling. Once the ticket link was made available to the public, it was sold out in just one hour. Proving there is an audience demand to see FilAm films in America today. The ArtShare LA location where the premiere took place was to the point standing room only for a variety of Filipino American films to set off upcoming and future talent in the years to come. A second screening is TBD / TBA, but in the meantime, let's support all Filipino American works from acting to filmmaking to producing in all media. http://festival.vconline.org/2017/shorts-programs/filam-creative-shorts/ Below is a slideshow of photos from this past week's Los Angeles event: LOLO PEPE - (Edwin in the Principal Role as "Tito Rey")
